The Idea

At Christmas 2025 I received some Polaroid and Instax Mini film as a gift from my lovely wife (thanks!). It occurred to me that I might make a habit of shooting with the intent of being able to present one good photograph every week in the instant print medium.

And I love bad puns.

RAW-26 (‘Roid-A-Week) was born.

So, how did that go anyway?

Uh, yeah. Not great. It sort of petered out around week 15 or 16. I ran out of film a couple of times, and just generally didn’t keep up with it. Life got in the way, ADHD did its usual thing, and the project slowed to a halt with nary a fanfare.

Which makes me sad.

That said, I could in theory bring this thing back to life. But sometimes a project of this nature just runs its course.

The Results

It did produce a reasonable body of work. Not cohesive in style (other than the style imposed by my own whims on what I’d shoot) but very much so in the medium.
